How to cook steak for fajitas?

Do i cut the raw steak and then put it in the pan? Or do I cook the whole thing through and then cut it and throw the pieces back in the pan with the veggies? Also is there any seasoning I should be using or just salt and pepper? And do I need to coat the pan with oil? Sorry I'm a cooking novice :o/How to cook steak for fajitas?

Cut steak in thin pieces. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and meat tenderizer. Pour soy sauce and teriyaki sauce over meat in Tupperware. Cook yourself some flank steak, browning it well, then cut it up.

';Seasoning'; means salt and pepper.

Should you use other spices? Most people do. The spices you choose depend on whether you want ';authenticity'; or whether you want something your family/guests will like. Adobo is a reasonable spice blend to use.

Flank steak is pretty lean, so adding some oil will help.
I find it easier to cut the steak while it is still partly frozen. That way I can cut it thinly without cutting myself! I season the steak before cooking with the fajita seasoning and then cook it quickly in hot oil. It is almost like stir frying. This way the meat stays tender and you dont get dried out steak! Don't overcook it - remember it continues to cook after you take it off the heat so even though it still might not look completely as done as you might want it to be, it will keep cooking and could end up being TOO done! (unless you like it well done, that is!) Fajita seasoning comes in several ways. Look in the packets of seasomings where the Taco seasonings are and you should find Fajita seasoning also. There is Enchilada seasoning there, too! All of them are good to use and fun to experiment with! Enjoy!
Just a tip --- semi freeze the meat (NOT solid) -- it will be much easier to cut into thin strips.

Dear Mollie, everyone has to start somewhere. The best meat for fajitas is flank steak or skirt steak. Cut the meat into slices, put into a pan with oil and saute slowly so it won't burn. Then you can salt%26amp;pepper the slices, Also if you want to,saute some onions too. Cut the onions into slices %26amp; put into pan either with steak or after steak comes out. Whatever flavor from the meat will help flavor the onions and or greenor red or orange peppers Also use garlic powder that flavors everything better. Best of luck!
